How We Make Our Jalapeño Moonshine
Our moonshine base was created by first fermenting barley & cane sugar in traditional wood fermenters. We open ferment our moonshine during the warmer summer months allowing us to utilize wild yeasts within the air. Our base is rapidly fermented and distilled using our copper pot still.
During the summer months we naturally infuse our Jalapeño Moonshine using locally grown Jalapeños. A portion of our Jalapeño's are grown on-site, with the remainder grown at a local Niagara farm, less than 5 kms away.
RECIPE: Jalapeño Caesar
At Limited we take great pride in how we prepare Canada's favourite cocktail - the Caesar! We have crafted our Jalapeño Moonshine to be the perfect spirit to mix with your Caesars.
- 1.5 oz. of Limited Jalapeño Moonshine
- 8 oz of Caesar Mix
- Dash of Worcestershire sauce (to taste)
- 1 Dash of hot sauce
- Ice Cubes
- Lime Wedge and Celery Stick
- Rim: 1 Tsp of Casa Bonita Tajin spice & 1 tsp of celery salt (or as needed)
COCKTAIL PREPARATION: Prepare the rim by combining the Tajin spice & celery salt on a plate. Wet the rim of the glass with the lime (set aside for later). Press the glass into the celery salt to coat. Fill glass with ice. Pour Jalapeño Moonshine, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce over the ice. Top with your Caesar Mix of choice and stir! Garnish with a lime wedge and celery stick.
